The First Temple is one and the first of the three locations needed to recharge the Calamity Gems on the Calamity Box, being the green Gem in this case. It is located somewhere in Amygdala Woods, an Amphibian forest full of green, brain-like mushrooms.

In "A Day at the Aquarium", King Andrias reveals that there are temples where the gems can be recharged. Only one of the temples' locations is known, which is the temple located in Amygdala Woods. During "After the Rain", Marcy lets Anne and the Plantars know that they're ready to go to the first temple, along with a list of what they should bring via mail she sent through by a flying bug to Anne at the Plantar Farm.
Later on, Marcy arrives to pick up the family for the first temple trip. The temple gives the people who enter three trials to challenge their intellect, which Marcy completes while being oblivious to her surroundings. They make it past the first two trials, but the third proves to be difficult, because it's a game of Flipwart, where the family becomes the game pieces. The Plantars become some of Marcy's pieces and Anne becomes one of the temple's pieces. At first, Marcy is confident that she can win, and almost does until the temple cheats. Anne and the Plantars are all getting upset, and Marcy, seeing the situation, forfeits the game and gets the family out, at the cause of not being able to go through the temple again. Green arrows appear to lead them out, but are actually leading them to the outhouse that is actually where to recharge the stone after Marcy proved herself to have humility, which is what the temple was really testing instead of only intelligence. The stone gets recharged, as the green color is drained from Marcy's eyes signifying she lost her wit powers, and creates a beam of light leading them to the next temple.
