The Thai Community is a community of people from Earth in Los Angeles, California.
History[]
The Thai community is a group of people from Thailand who immigrated or moved to Los Angeles. The Boonchuy family would regularly attend the Thai Temple, but Anne always found it boring. In 2019, the community learned Anne was missing along with her friends: Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu. When Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy were too upset to work or cook, the community helped keep Thai Go running and gave them food to comfort them.
In "Temple Frogs", the community learns of Anne's return and are happy to see her. The Plantar family explore the community and start doing all their activities: Hop Pop does silent theater, Sprig plays Sepak Takraw with some of the members, and Polly speaks fluent Thai with some of the kids. Anne has to serve food, but she impatiently wants to get away so she can see Dr. Jan, so she bribes one member to take her place so she can escape. However, Anne gets caught by her mom and the latter reveals she was returning dishes to some of the community members who gave her and her husband food to comfort them over Anne's disappearance. Anne begins to see how clueless she was about her parents' feelings and especially their perspective of her disappearance and apologizes profusely for her behavior; later resolving to participate more actively and frequently at the temple.
Suddenly, Dragonfly-like robots sent by Cloak-Bot arrive to destroy Anne, surprising the community. To avoid suspicions, Anne tells her mother they are from the Saint James Middle School vloggers: Desi and Rico, who wanted to get more pictures of Anne. The community and Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy help Anne and the Plantars destroy the drones despite Anne telling them to take shelter. After destroying the drones, the Plantars are unmasked as real frogs. Though the community is surprised by their appearances, they understand that the Plantars are Anne's friends and promise not to tell anyone and Anne is thankful for keeping their secret. The community later help clean up the drones' remains.
In "Froggy Little Christmas", the community return to help Anne, the Plantars, Ally, and Jess build and decorate the Thai Go float for the Christmas-Palooza Parade.
In "Escape to Amphibia", after the Plantars are captured by Mr. X and the FBI, Papu and a fellow Thai woman are summoned along with Ally, Jess, Humphrey Westwood, and Molly Jo to help rescue the Plantars. Though Ally, Jess, Humphrey, and Molly are surprised that the Plantars are frog aliens, Papu's friend tells Papu that she loves frogs with garlic and the duo laugh, but agree to rescue the Plantars. First the duo dresses Humphrey as a frog while the duo pretends to be FBI agents.
