"Suspicious Isling" is a song written by Leslie Wolfhard, the wife of Steve Wolfhard. She also performed the instrumental version of the song on the violin. The short song is sung by Justin Felbinger in his role as Sprig in the episode "Taking Charge".
Sprig is singing the song on his fiddle when he, Anne and the rest of the Plantars are in the mountains looking for a Zapapede to recharge Anne's phone. The phone's battery was drained the night before after someone of the Plantars secretly watched all episodes of Suspicion Island. The song is about the Plantars' distrust for each other and comparing it to the characters and events in the episodes they watched together the night before.
Lyrics[]
A family distrusts each other,
on a dangerous mission,
like the nearly-naked humans on the island of suspicion.
Peruvia, Felicia, and Randy - so hot!
Beguiling, hostiling,
we’re all suspicious isling!
Trivia[]
This was the first song in the series specifically made for an episode.
The song also marks the debut of Sprig's fiddle.
The song wasn't originally included in the episode, but written and sent to the writers as a joke. The writers thought it was an "adorable tune" and thought that they just had to incorporate it into the episode.[1]
