Trivia
- Before the release of Season 1, Matt Braly stated on April 24, 2019, that he had "exciting" news that he was not yet able to discuss.[45] This is generally believed by fans to be when Disney greenlit Season 2.
- Matt Braly has indeed said that Season 2 was greenlit long before Season 1 aired in large part to keep the crew together at that moment in time, lest the crew need to pursue other work after Season 1 was completed.[46]
- According to an interview with Braly released by The Animation Magazine, production on Amphibia Season 2 was set to begin "a few weeks" after that interview. The piece was posted to The Animation Magazine's website on June 3, 2019, but had previously been published in the June/July 2019 release of its magazine.[47]
- This season marks the full debut of Anne's second friend, Marcy Wu, who during the first season only appeared in flashbacks from the opening and "Best Fronds", and was pictured and mentioned.
- This season takes place from September/October to October/November 2019.[citation needed]
- This season's first half is the only half of a season in which the opening sequence remains constant.
- This is the only season in which the short opening sequence is neither used in the first half nor is played before two eleven-minute episodes.
- On Disney+, this season is listed by the production order, rather than the broadcast order. This was likely done to order all of the episodes chronologically.
- It could also relate to Matt Braly considering "The Shut-In!" taking place after "Night Drivers"/"Return to Wartwood".[48]
- From this point onward, every episode premiered on Saturdays, rather than weekdays.
- This season's promotional poster depicts Anne with the Plantar family and Marcy with Olivia, Yunan and Andrias, but Sasha is only shown with Grime.
- This possibly foreshadows Percy and Braddock leaving Sasha in "Barrel's Warhammer".
- This is the only season to not have a licensed song.
Production information
- This season has four 22-minute episodes.[49]
- However, the season finale "True Colors" runs two minutes longer, making it the second episode in the series following "Toad Tax"/"Prison Break" with a 24-minute runtime.
