Rebecca Sugar (born July 9, 1987) is an American animator, director, screenwriter, and producer best known for creating Steven Universe and Steven Universe Future, as well as directing Steven Universe: The Movie, which turned her[note 1] into an animation superstar.
For Amphibia, she voices Becka Salt in the episode "Froggy Little Christmas". She also wrote the song "Our Special Time of Year" for the same episode.[1]
In December 2023, it was announced that Sugar would be working with Matt Braly on a Sony Pictures Animation feature film based on the latter's Thai-American upbringing, with Sugar working on the scripting and Braly working on development.[2]
