Newtopia was the capital city of Amphibia where King Andrias, Amphibia's former monarch with his ancestors, lived. It was a giant metropolis in which the newts of Amphibia reside as well as members of other amphibian species, such as frogs.
The capital was guarded and defended by its own military force known as the Newtopian military with the Night Guard, which the former also commanded the Toad Army; Until the army of toads' 3 leaders from distinct regions of Amphibia, Captain Aldo, Captain Bufo and Captain Beatrix supported this orchestrated rebellion then the temporary invasion of Newtopia by Captain Grime and Sasha. The rebellion and invasion was unsuccessful. Andrias activated the Newtopia Castle by using the Calamity Box which made the castle float above the city and he uses the castle's energy cannon to destroy North Tower.
Since the events that happen between "True Colors" and "Turning Point", King Andrias used the Calamity Box's technology to reactivate the factories around Amphibia to build up his personal Frobot military force and quickly industrialize some parts of Amphibia in weeks to the point of stripping off natural surroundings with making lots of pollution around the capital as seen in "Olivia & Yunan".
During the events of "All In" and "The Hardest Thing", the city was in ruins, and the fate of its inhabitants is unknown. It is currently unknown if it was eventually rebuilt or a new city was built in its place.
Appearance[]
Newtopia appears to bear a resemblance similar to a castle/palace, with turrets and towers being seen in the distance including flags placed at the top of the towers which appear to be shaped like red mushrooms. Likely made out of "Newtopian Marble" and possibly gold, the castle is the most massive structure on the show. There is a winding cobblestone path leading to the entrance and the location seems amidst a shallow sea. There is a large golden gate that serves as the entrance and atop Newtopia is a large silver sculpture with a beak-like carving facing upwards.
History[]
Ancient Times[]
Over a 1,000 years before the series, the city was an advanced metropolis that was governed by the ancestors of King Andrias whom were also conquerors of other dimensions. Eventually, the Newt Ancestors wanted to cheat death for unknown reasons and later experimented on creatures known as Moss Men and Shadowfish, leading to the creation of a mysterious hivemind entity known as the Core which was kept hidden from the amphibian citizens of Newtopia and other towns although symbolism of it was present.
When King Aldrich came into power however, a frog named Leif saw a vision that if the Newtopian monarchs continue to abuse the power of the Calamity Box, Amphibia would be destroyed. She then tried to convince Aldrich to stop his plans to conquer Earth for more resources but was dismissed. Leif ultimately stole to Calamity Box anyways angering the crown prince, Andrias who just took power.
Arrival of Marcy Wu and Anne Boonchuy[]
Centuries later, a human girl named Marcy Wu arrived in Newtopia via the Calamity Box and quickly gained popularity among the citizens due to her high intelligence which also peaked the interest of King Andrias whom made her his assistant/advisor along with Lady Olivia.
About four months later, a girl named Anne Boonchuy along with a frog family named the Plantars arrive in Newtopia and Anne reunites with Marcy and lives in Newtopia for a couple a weeks before King Andrias gives them information on the Calamity Box and Marcy goes to Wartwood to help Anne journey to the temples while Andrias speaks to the Core and says that they are close to undoing a prophecy while he ignores the ongoing political threat that the Toads pose to the monarchy.[run-on sentence; please revise]
The Toad's Invasion and a Dark Past Resurrected[]
Marcy, Anne, Sasha, Grime and the Plantars later arrive at the city, ready for the girls to be sent home until Sasha betrays them and begins the toad invasion and has the others incarcerated, along with Andrias in the castle dungeon though they manage to escape to stop the invasion despite Sasha warning Anne that Andrias harbors a secret but fails to tell her. The group soon convene with Andrias whom reveals his malicious nature and activates Newtopia Castle by using the Calamity Box which made the castle float above the city and he uses the castle's energy cannon to destroy North Tower.
After witnessing Marcy reveal her own truth, Annes organizes an attempt to defeat Andrias along with Sasha and the rest but the battle goes horribly wrong with Anne and the Plantars getting transported to Earth while a critically wounded Marcy and Sasha become trapped in Amphibia. A few weeks later, Andrias begins to strip mine the land around Newtopia, transforming it into a dystopian state while the citizens and royal subjects are forced to work for him. Sometime later, royal advisor Lady Olivia and General Yunan conspire to liberate Marcy who is kept in stasis and stop Andrias. This plan, however, fails and Marcy is unwillingly used as a host for the Core who then regains secret control of Newtopia as it did 1,000 years ago and begins its plans to invade Earth.
Rebellions against the Monarchy and Invasion on Earth[]
A couple of days later, Anne Boonchuy and the Plantars returns to Amphibia to stop Andrias. They, along with Sasha, Grime and a rebel group known as the Wartwood Resistance round up new recruits for the resistance and try to make a dent in Andrias' Army. It is later revealed that some newts became thieves and robbed caravans but soon joined the resistance alongside some kill-a-moths. The Wartwood Resistance and their allies battle the Frobot Army and mind-controlled animals outside of Newtopia while Anne, Sasha, the Plantars, Grime, and Frobo boarded the floating Castle in order to save Marcy and get the Calamity Box. Andrias later battle the rebellion and the Rebellion retreated after Darcy captured Anne and her friends.
The Rebellion continue fighting the remaining Frobot army outside of Newtopia while the Frog-vasion was happening, as the battle went on, the Newtopia Castle appear in the sky only for it to crash and land next to Newtopia due to Polly driving. The Rebellion remain outside of Newtopia during their victory and washing Anne, Sasha, and Marcy battle the Core and its remaining forces.
With the Core destroyed and Andrias no longer king, it is unknown what became of Newtopia.
Locations[]
Newtopia Castle (formerly)[]
Newtopia Castle is the home of King Andrias, Marcy Wu, Lady Olivia and General Yunan. After Andrias got the Calamity Box back, the castle began floating above the capital. The castle later temporarily traveled to Earth for the invasion, which was stopped and the castle itself landing just outside the city limits, courtesy of Polly.
Hemisphere Hotel[]
First appearing in "The Plantars Check In", the Hemisphere Hotel is an upscale hotel in Newtopia that stands at roughly twenty floors tall. Its first floor is populated with cafés, restaurants, various shops, a fountain, and an indoor Ferris wheel. The top of the hotel features a large see-through dome where the sunset can be viewed through.
Burg[]
A restaurant that appears in "Scavenger Hunt" that Marcy claims to have the best beetle hamburgers in all of Newtopia. It stands at three floors tall, has two windows on the front of the building, and has outdoor tables for dining.
Coral Park[]
Coral Park is a location briefly seen in "Scavenger Hunt" that contains pink and orange coral. In its center sits a statue of a newt named Ezra Brackish looking through a telescope. The statue’s head is hollowed out, so those who remove its hat can peer through its telescope. In it, they uncover the word “bring,” painted on the coral as part of the code from the episode.
Museum[]
The museum is another location Marcy, Anne, and Sprig visit in search of a clue to solve the puzzle in their scavenger hunt.
Sal's Wartwood Style Sandwiches[]
A sandwich shop now in ruins was formerly operated by Sal, an old friend of Hop Pop Plantar.
Sauce, Inc.[]
Sal's factory located at 144 Via Gustosa, Little Frogtown, 00155 that makes his special sauce.
Newtopia University[]
The place home for the highest educated Amphibians and the most protective place in Newtopia (not sure is it more protective than the Newtopia Castle). Sprig was picked to be a student, while he declined the offer, the offer is still open for Sprig.

Colosseum[]
According to General Yunan and some other frogs in "Toadcatcher", there is apparently a gladiator colosseum in the city where Grime fought in before he rose to ranks as captain.
Newtopia Aquarium[]
The aquarium that appeared from "A Day at the Aquarium" shows the sea animals and creatures back in Wartwood like river lampreys from "Flood, Sweat & Tears", the kraken from "Lily Pad Thai", Hop Pop's cane from "Cane Crazy", Domino 2 from "The Domino Effect", the cannibal couple from "A Night at the Inn", mudmen from "Anne Vs. Wild", the grubhog from "Grubhog Day", a zapapede from "Taking Charge", and Veggierobo from "Handy Anne". At the Stingray Stage Show, they had stingrays. However, they have water snakes like the one from "Best Fronds".
Arcade[]
The arcade is located right near Sal's Wartwood Style Sandwiches in "Little Frogtown" where Anne, Sprig, and Polly waited in a line for three hours. But the arcade was shut down after Anne confronted a kid for cutting in front of her, causing all 3 to be banned from the Arcade for life.

Trivia[]
- Newtopia first appeared as a cameo in the Season 1 opening sequence. The city is first mentioned in the Season 1 episode "Fiddle Me This" by Wartilda as a well-known location for a university, but the city is officially shown in the second season episode "Marcy at the Gates". It isn't until the location called Newtopia University makes its first appearance in the episode "Sprig Gets Schooled".
- It is a two-week journey from Wartwood to Newtopia by taking the path around the mountains.
- General Yunan is from Newtopia and is the youngest commanding officer to achieve the rank of general in the army branch of the Newtopian military.
- Although a lot of places in Amphibia do not have access to electricity, the Hemisphere Hotel's elevators, indoor Ferris wheel, and lights located in the cafés, and restaurants with various shops among other places are powered by electricity, as well as the arcade. This means Newtopia seems to be the only known place to have electricity in all of Amphibia, for now. It is possible that technology maybe have been brought back to Amphibia during the 10 year timeskip during the finale.
- Coppers, being the main currency of Amphibia, are also used in Newtopia.
- While the main language is English inside Newtopia, the Amphibian language is more prominent.
- Matt stated on Reddit if Amphibia was real, he would love seaside towns like this.
- In "True Colors", it was explained by King Andrias that the capital and Amphibia as a whole were extremely advanced more than 1000 years ago in its good old days, with loads of advanced technology and the Calamity Box as the source of energy powering the whole continent. Yet he also stated his friends were uneasy about Andrias' conqueror ambition, which lead to both his friends leaving him and one of his former friends taking the box away, which led to Amphibia as a whole losing nearly all its advanced technology and decreasing into a medieval society with only Newtopia still possessing items such as electricity.
- It was in Marcy Theme Song Takeover.
- In "The Hardest Thing", the human girls traveled back to Earth through an interdimensional portal on a cliff just outside Newtopia. The cliff itself later became a monument dedicated to them, with their signature weapons placed there as a shrine.
