[It's morning in Wartwood, and Marcy, who's staying in the fwagon, kicks the door open full of energy.]
Marcy: Woo! Look out Amphibia! It's Marcy's first day in Wartwood!
[She rushes down to the basement fists in the air, where Anne's shown still asleep.]
Marcy: First day in Wartwood! First day in Wartwood! First day in Wartwood! First day in Wartwood! (She leaves.)
Anne: [asleep] Five more minutes.
(Marcy's now flying over town on Joe Sparrow.)
Marcy: First day! First day! First day! First day! Woo! (The two land.)
Marcy: (gasps) It's so cute! It's got a folksy country vibe.
Random frog: (burps)
Marcy: Colorful characters.
Three random frogs: (burps)
Marcy: Gosh, Anne was right. It's the perfect little farm town! (The frog captured by the dragonfly flies over and burps in the background.) And now, to introduce myself.
Mrs. Croaker: Oh, those look fresh.
Marcy: Hi! My name is Marcy. What's your name?
Mrs Croaker: Oh, great. Just what we need. Another outsider. (walks off)
Marcy: (waves to the merchant) Hello!
(The merchant closes down his stand.)
Marcy: HI there! My name is Marcy. Do you have any time to talk about its unique architectural history?
Maddie's Sisters: Uh...
Baby Sister #2: Are you a weirdo?
(Wally is shown playing his accordion on a barrel.)
Marcy: Oh, my gosh! Are you a vagrant? Is that an accordion? Is that eye really gone?
Wally: Too many questions!
(He throws his accordion through a window and jumps through it. Marcy sighs. A bit later, Marcy sits at the statue in the middle of town when Anne walks up to her.)
Anne: Hey, Mar Mar. How's your first day in Wartwood going?
Marcy: Oh, great. Did you know this entire town is built on top of a swamp but never sinks? That's because the designers knew exactly how heavy to make everything.
Anne: That's a cool fact. (blushes) What else ya learn?
Marcy: I also learned that small communities like this don't take kindly to strangers, which means I don't have a chance.
Anne: Don't be ridiculous, of course they'll accept you!
Marcy: You sure about that?
(Screen pans over to an angry mob)
Anne: Guys, come on, she's with me!
Mob: All right, if you say so.
Anne: Wait, is that Polly?
Polly: I go where the mob goes, Anne!
Marcy: (sighs)
Anne: They'll warm up to you! It just takes time.
Marcy: Time... or maybe a strategy!
Anne: Gonna say time still.
Marcy: Come on, Anne! People are just another puzzle to solve! Operation: Connect with Wartwood, engage! (Strikes a hero pose and loses balance, falling into the fountain and breaking a statue into two pieces.)
Frog #1: What the-! The town founder whose name I don't even know! How dare she!
Frog #2: It's that clumsy outsider!
Frog #3: Bet she'll knock the whole city down before she's through!
Marcy: No problem, no problem! I can fix it! (mixes the two red and blue potions she's holding into a purple liquid, which she pours on the broken end of one part of the statue. She then attaches the other onto the part with the liquid and ties one end of a rope around it, and the other to [A/N: Idk what this creature is], which she slaps lightly, so it starts running, pulling up the statue. She polishes the statue.)
(The gathered crowd murmurs noises of approval)
Mrs. Croaker: Wow, she fixed it!
Anne: Woah, when did you learn how to do that?
Marcy: I took a sculpting class in Newtopia.
Anne: You've been taking classes?
Marcy: Yeah, haven't you?
Frog girl: (to Marcy, as the crowd is leaving) You seem alright, lady, for an outsider anyway! (spits and walks off)
Marcy: (cheers, pulling Anne into a hug) Oh my gosh, Anne! I just got a spit of approval! (releases Anne) Hmm, I did win the Newtopians over by improving their city, I bet I could do the same thing here in Wartwood!
Anne: I... guess that can work!
Marcy: Come on, Anne! Show me all the cruddy things wrong with this town!
Anne: Where do I even start?
(A montage. Anne and Marcy fix 2 of the 3 potholes in the road. A passerby falls into the one they hadn't filled yet)
Marcy: Should've started with that one!
(Marcy fixes a lamp post, a fence and a pillory, all of which she sticks a note on after she's done, saying "Marcy wuz here!". The montage ends, and the screen pans over.)
Frog #4: Woah! Street lamps that turn on? What kind of crazy town is this?
(Cut to Marcy, while Mrs. Croaker, Wally and Mr. Flour walk up behind her.)
Mrs. Croaker: It's okay, I guess.
Mr. Flour: Still not sold on this outsider.
Wally: Hear, hear!
(Marcy's expression drops, as Anne walks up to her.)
Anne: Nice, dude! The town looks great!
Marcy: Thanks, Anne. I still haven't done enough! I need to go bigger!
Mayor Toadstool: (coming in on a hot air balloon) Did someone say bigger?
Anne: Never seen that balloon before. Marcy, meet Mayor Toadstool. He's like if the Monopoly man had a baby with a piece of fried chicken.
Mayor Toadstool: That better be a compliment, Boonchuy.
Marcy: So you're the local toad, huh?
Mayor Toadstool: Right on the money, huh-huh! And speaking of money, are you the one who's been making these delightful little improvements to our town?
Marcy: That's-a me!
Mayor Toadstool: Gotta hand it to you, I find your work mighty impressive! How'd you like to help me make some bigger improvements, huh? I have a mind to turn this podunk little town into a real money-making tourist attraction!
Marcy: (gasps as eyes light up) If I make this town super successful, then people will have to accept me!
Mayor Toadstool: Yes! Sure, whatever. Toadie! (Toadie comes onscreen holding a scroll) Here's the plan, take a look, think it over. (snaps fingers) Fetch the balloon, Toadie!
Toadie: Uh, it drifted away, sir.
Mayor Toadstool: It what? (turns around to see balloon floating away) Oh, dang it! That's the third time that's happened today! Toadie, you're promoted to balloon now.
Toadie: Woo!
Mayor Toadstool: Well, I hope we can do business soon! Fly me away, Toadie! Higher, Toadie! (leaves screen)
Marcy: This is it, Anne! The way to everyone's heart!
Anne: I don't know, Marce. Any plan of the mayor's is sure to go belly up.
Marcy: Eh, you're probably right.
[Cut to the Fwagon at night. Marcy is laying on her bed, kicking her bare feet up and down while overthinking what Anne said earlier before she lifts her body up and puts her feet at the end of the bed.]
Marcy: No you're not!
[Morning. The Brown Overalls Frog wakes up and yawns as he opens his window, and is shocked to see his house remodeled.]
Frog #4: What the? Whoa. My house is classy now!
Blue Farmer Frog: Look over there. The whole town's changed.
[Anne and the Plantars have a look and are surprised at the changes Marcy made overnight.]
Hop Pop: [gasp]
Polly: Wow.
Hop Pop: What in tarnation is going on here?
Anne: Oh no...she didn't!
[A trumpet fanfare plays as Marcy and Mayor Toadstool head on stage wearing suits and top hats.]
Marcy: Good morning, ladies and gentlefrogs!
Mayor Toadstool: And welcome to... [in unison with Marcy] New Wartwood!
Marcy: Your city is new and improved! Thanks to the work of mah-self...and Mayor Toadstool!
Mayor Toadstool: Gone are the days of stump stores of Wartwood, replaced by newly imported Newtopian marble!
Marcy: Feast your eyes on the new Clock Tower!
Anne: Not loving that clock.
Marcy: And finally, may I present...the new and improved Town Square statue!
Mrs. Croaker: Oh! Is he single?
Wally: Uhh, it's a statue.
Mrs. Croaker: That's not what I asked!
Mayor Toadstool: And for limited time only! About fifteen minutes... EVERYTHING IS FREE!
[Pan to everyone in the Town Square having fun.]
Mayor Toadstool: Oh, we're gonna make oodles!
Anne: Mar-Mar! Are you sure this was a good idea?
Marcy: Isn't it great?! We completely transformed this place! Now everyone will have to accept me.
Anne: That's not how this works. People will accept you when they accept you.
Marcy: Yeah. Which is right now. Look, Anne. You found a way that worked for you, and I found a way that worked for me.
[Suddenly a loud emerging cracking from underground is heard.]
Marcy: Huh?
[Water rises from above the cracked ground, causing the townspeople to panic. In the process the houses begin to collapse to and many frogs fall underwater, including the trumpet band.]
Anne: What the heck is going on?
Marcy: Oh no! The weight. We built too much. The town is sinking into the swamp!
Mayor Toadstool: I for one refuse to learn anything from this! [runs off]
Marcy: Well, they definitely aren't going to like me after this. But, I can at least make sure that everyone lives! Come on, Anne!
Anne: Right on!
[Marcy summons Joe Sparrow by snapping her fingers.]
Marcy: JOE SPARROW!
[Joe Sparrow comes to the rescue then Marcy and Anne hop on him.]
Mrs. Croaker: [sinking] Honestly this isn't that bad. We are frogs after all.
[Wally gasps for air as he emerges from the water. Another house comes crashing down on him as he screams.]
Marcy: You two can relax. You're perfectly safe!
Wally & Mrs. Croaker: [being held by a flying Joe Sparrow] AAAAAHHHH!!!!
Anne: Okay, now we gotta stop the town from sinking. You know, lighten the load somehow.
Marcy: Exactly. And I think I know what needs to go!
[Marcy makes Joe Sparrow grab the roof of a refurnished house and throw it into the forest. She then does the same with the head of the Mayor Toadstool shiny golden clock.]
Mayor Toadstool: NOOOOOOOO!
[The statue head crushes a green mantis, then a grubhog kicks the dirt onto the statue.]
Anne: That helped. But the town is still sinking!
Marcy: We're not done yet!
[Marcy lassos onto the new statue attempting to get Joe to maneuver it.]
Marcy: Come on, Joe Sparrow! I believe in you!
[Joe is successful in getting a hold of the statue and throwing it off a cliff.]
Marcy: That'll do, Joe Sparrow. That'll do.
[The town is back to normal as everything that sunk underground rises back up.]
Marcy: We did it Anne. Total success!
Mrs. Croaker: Ahem!
[Marcy and Anne turn around to see an angry crowd of citizens surrounding them.]
Anne: Wait, guys. Don't be mad. Marcy just wanted to help.
Marcy: It's okay, Anne. I can face the music on my own. [takes a deep breath] I'm so sorry, everyone. I mean, you're all really important to Anne, and I know how much you love her. And I guess I just wanted you to like me too. But, I took things way too far.
Mrs. Croaker: Marcy, was it? I think I speak for everyone here when I say... we're all pretty mad at you!
Mayor Toadstool: To be fair, I shoulder just a bit of blame here.
Mrs. Croaker: Zip it, Toadstool! We'll get to you.
Mayor Toadstool: Yes m'am!
Mrs. Croaker: [points to Marcy] As for YOU! You're a walking disaster who doesn't know when to quit. You nearly destroyed this town and killed us all in the process. [Marcy looks down in shame, but Croaker has a change of heart in her tone] In other words, you're just like Anne when she got here.
Marcy: [looks back up] Huh?
Wally: Yeah. Which probably means we'll get around to liking you, eventually.
Duckweed: Whether we want to or not. Am I right?
[The crowd begins laughing in unison]
Marcy: Hehe. Anne! Is that true?
Anne: Oh, for sure, man! I even set the whole town on fire once. No lie.
Wally: Burned me trousers off!
Duckweed: I remember that!
Blue Frog: [burnt hair] I'm still on fire!
?: He's probably in constant pain!
Mrs. Croaker: Just be patient and I'm sure you'll fit in eventually. After a lengthy period of regarding you with borderline paranoia and suspicion I do!
Marcy: Fair enough! Thank you everyone. I'll do my best. In the meantime, let me at least clean this mess up.
Mrs. Croaker: Okay. But you better not do anymore than that.
[Marcy runs off to rebuild houses as video game music is heard.]
Marcy: Do-do-do-doooo!
Wally: I gotta say she's pretty amazing!
Anne: Yep, she's one of a kind.
Mrs. Croaker: Oh yeah, yeah!
Mayor Toadstool: Oh yeah, she's amazing.
Anne: [notices the Toadstool balloon next to her] Who the heck is even in there?
[The balloon pops and reveals a bunch of bugs coming out.]
Anne: BUGS! IT'S JUST BUGS!
[Everyone gets scared and runs away.]
Mayor Toadstool: What can I say? THEY WERE CHEAP!
[Joe Sparrow comes back to start feasting on the bugs.]
