Background[]
The Museum of Natural History is a museum in Los Angeles that collects artifacts from history. At one point an ancient vase showing a pink frog emerging from a portal with the Calamity Box appeared in front of three vikings.
Anne and the Plantars are dropped off at the Natural History Museum and are taken in by all the sights. As Hop Pop begins to notice that Anne is becoming paranoid, they come across the vase that looks like it came from Amphibia. As they inspect it, they are suddenly greeted by Dr. Jan, an extraterrestrial and cryptid-obsessed curator who notices their keen interest in the jar. She believes that the vase depicts people worshipping a frog-like deity whom she believes is extraterrestrial in origin. As she offers to go over it more, Anne turns her away, upsetting the Plantars. Anne instead convinces them that they should sneak into the museum at night and steal the artifact.
Anne and the Plantars manage to sneak into the museum by tricking the gullible guards and Sprig takes out the cameras. However, the Cloak-Bot picks up on their location and bursts into the museum where a fight breaks out. During the commotion, Dr. Jan and the security guards break in. Needing to stay discreet, the Cloak-Bot flees. Dr. Jan turns the security team away and immediately accepts the Plantars' presence with Anne finally learning to trust her. Dr. Jan offers to look at the jar and in return, Anne gets some shut eye as she was drowsy through the majority of their adventure. The next day, Dr. Jan shines a black light over the vase, based on Anne's suggestion, and discovers a hidden message in Amphibian alphabet.
Around Christmas time, the museum was decorated for not only Christmas but Hanukkah as well. Anne brought the Plantars here to ask Dr. Jan if she could borrow decorations for her family's float for the Christmas-Palooza Parade she was making; as Anne proceeded to collect what she needed, the Plantars question Dr. Jan on the meaning of Christmas, but she goes into a tangent that doesn't provide them an answer.
