Mind-controlling collars are technology-based collars used by King Andrias' Frobot military force to control the local wildlife of Amphibia as a way to suppress the local amphibians who dare to oppose him, as well as domestic war animals for amphibians who are loyal to Andrias.
Appearance[]
The collars are dark with some bright pinkish-purple glowing orbs and gems attached to it along with purple glowing markings around it. Wearing this collar makes the wearer have purple eyes, signifying they are under the collar's control.
Background[]
During Andrias' conquest to take over other worlds, his forces start harvesting the mind-controlling mushroom to power these collars and place them on the local wildlife to force them to attack anyone who resists Andrias' reign. When Anne, the Plantars, and Frobo return to Amphibia and Wartwood Swamp, they are attacked by a giant centipede wearing the collar, but Sasha blasts it off with a plasma cannon from a Frobot, freeing the centipede. Sasha shows them what remains of the collar and that the source is coming from a factory that's controlling the animals. After Anne, the Plantars, Sasha, Wally, Loggle, and Mrs. Croaker go to destroy it, a giant collared snake attacks them and eats the Plantars, Wally, Mrs. Croaker, and later Anne. Sasha later frees them and destroys the collar, freeing it too. The group then proceeds to destroy the station, freeing the local wildlife.[1]
Sometime after, Andrias' army uses the collars again on snakes who are being used as body guards defending cargo. They are later freed by Anne and Sprig with the help of Tritonio's Merry Band.[2] Some Frobots then enslave a pack of kill-a-moths fitted with collars in order to generate power. They are freed by and Sprig, and then used by the rebellion as air cavalry/companions.[3]
During the battle between the Wartwood Resistance and Andrias' forces, the collars are placed on several, as well as General Yunan and Lady Olivia. Initially, Anne and Sasha have a difficult time taking on the brainwashed newts due to their tight coordination, until they use synchronized dances and break the collars on Yunan and Olivia, thus freeing them.[4] While the resistance takes on Andrias' army, Newtopia Castle travels to Earth, where the castle unleashes two collared giant herons as reinforcements. The herons decimate the human military's tanks and later pursue Anne and the other resistance fighters. However, the herons' collars break apart when one of them crashes into the other and collapses into a parking lot building. Afterwards, the Plantars tame the herons by doing the Plantar ritual.[5]
Nine months after the invasion, the mind-control collars were destroyed and the animals were freed from Andrias and the Core's control for good.
