Marnie is a minor antagonistic character of Amphibia. He is a vendor at Bizarre Bazaar, who stole Anne's backpack to give it as a prize to the winner of a cockroach cart racing game.
Appearance[]
Body[]
Marnie is a light green frog, with a lighter green underbelly and chest, with moss-green spots on his cheeks. He has tiny black pupils and two small front teeth.
Clothing[]
He wears a brown suit with a green bow. He also wears a black hood and mask to conceal his identity when taking possession from the bazaar visitors. He also carries a golden watch in his right pocket and wears green half gloves.
Personality[]
Marine is an excellent thief, stalking visitors of the Bizarre Bazaar to take their possessions and steal their money and coppers. Marnie also takes advantage of the rules of the bazaar, as he knows that everything in his stall is his right, no matter where he got it from.
Background[]
Marnie is a vendor at the annual and mysterious Bizarre Bazaar, who also gives prizes to visitors for winning in cockroach cart racing games he organizes. However, Marnie also often steals some of the bazaar's visitors' possessions to give them as prizes for winning the games.[1]
When Anne and Sprig go to the bazaar looking for answers to the Calamity Box, Marnie takes advantage and steals Anne's backpack and the box while she and Sprig are distracted at the Valeriana stand. Anne and Sprig go to claim the backpack back from him, but Marnie tells them that to get it back they will have to win in the cockroach cart racing game. Anne and Sprig agree to play, but they will have to compete against the Wrecker, a legend in the bazaar. Wrecker ends up beating them in the race, so Marnie gives him the backpack as the prize, the Bizaare Bazaar ending after that. Wrecker however reveals to Anne and Sprig after the bazaar closes that he is Hop Pop, Sprig's grandfather and Anne's caretaker.[1]
