The "Marcy Theme Song Takeover" is an alternative version of the Amphibia theme. It was released on September 30, 2021.[1] It was written by Dan Siegel, performed by Haley Tju, and boarded by Danny Ducker.[2][3]
In the theme, Anne's best friend Marcy reveals to Hop Pop and Polly her adventures in Newtopia after being teleported from Los Angeles while Anne was living in Wartwood and Sasha was at Toad Tower.

Trivia[]
- Marcy's broken left leg was also seen in "Olivia & Yunan" in a flashback, which was the aftermath of Marcy out of the free healthcare hospital and when she's seeing the amazing view from the Newtopia Castle balcony. It is shown once again in "All In", also in a flashback.
- This makes the "Marcy Theme Song Takeover" the only Theme Song Takeover to be addressed within the show itself.
- The Hemisphere Hotel, which appeared in "The Plantars Check In", can be seen when Marcy is teleported to Newtopia.
- The storyboard for the theme was shown during a Q&A about Season 3 with Matt Braly and the series crew at the LightBox Expo on September 10, 2021.[3]
- The scene where Anne, Sasha, and Marcy are being teleported to Amphibia is recycled from the regular intro and "Best Fronds".
- It was originally scheduled to release on October 2, 2021, the same day as the Season 3 premiere,[4] but was instead made public two days earlier.
- Marcy's clothing in Amphibia is part of a set of uniforms worn by members of the Newtopian Knight Guard, as well as having been designed by Bernardo.
- Marcy's crossbow on her right hand is seen when she shows off her Newtopian Knight Guard uniform.
- There are other amphibian (including Bartley, Branson and Blair) and non-amphibian characters seen in Newtopia.
- Much like in her debut episode, Marcy's cape catches on fire.
- Joe Sparrow is in the theme with the last part having a worm pilot known as Captain Billy on top of Joe's helmet.
- The final line, "Hope nothing bad ever happens to me!", serves as Marcy's tempting fate, as she would later betray Anne and Sasha,[5] be impaled,[5] and be possessed.[6] Andrias even winks after the aforementioned line.
- Polly says after the song, "Dang, you accomplished a lot in three months!", revealing that this takeover lines up exactly with the events of the first season.
- The newts having free public healthcare may reference a line from Andrias in "Olivia & Yunan", where he mentions that the study of the Moss Men improved the newt's medical research.
- Despite the use of the word "salamander" in the lyrics, Marcy's Journal: A Guide to Amphibia reveals that newts find the term to be extremely offensive.
Errors[]
- Marcy's hair is longer after she is teleported from Earth to Amphibia.
- Lady Olivia is the test subject in the line "studying salamander brains" despite being a newt.
- When Marcy throws the dice, an Earth-like background can be seen, even though the next shot takes place in the tent from "Marcy at the Gates".
