Hop Pop's Road Rules was a book of rules written by Hop Pop, to be consulted when driving the Fwagon for a safe ride.
Background[]
In "Fort in the Road", Hop Pop uses the book as a guide to get to Newtopia safe, which bothers Anne, Sprig, and Polly. After Anne and Sprig escape from the Fwagon and enter the Ruins of Despair, they have to save Hop Pop from danger. Out of stress, Sprig puts the book into a factory machine when asked for a disc, causing the book to get shredded apart.
In "Return to Wartwood", despite having been destroyed previously, the book is seen again when Polly is looking for the wish list, which implies Hop Pop owns a second copy of the book.
In Marcy's Journal: A Guide to Amphibia, when Marcy is experimenting on Frobo, she finds a very long document at the base of his skull; this document is "Hop Pop's Road Rules". The rules are what allow Frobo to have a will of his own.
Known rules[]
Road Rule No. 2: Don't celebrate until you're completely out of danger.
Road Rule No. 21: No shouting. Or else marauders will follow the sound and steal your skin.
Road Rule No. 68: Never ever pull a lever.
Road Rule No. 98: Never strike a heroic pose on the Fwagon. It's a sign of hubris that invites disaster.
Road Rule No. 149: Never drive faster than a junebug can fly.
Road Rule No. 193: Don't stop anywhere claiming to be "the best".
Road Rule No. 194: No ice-cream in the Fwagon.
