The green mantis is a type of insect in Amphibia. The species is quite small compared to the red mantis, a similar insect featured in the same episode, and was scared off by the red mantis when it appeared.
Appearance[]
The mantis is quite tall, reaching heights of four or more frogs. It has a green body and a lighter green under-body abdomen. It has yellow bulbous eyes on either side of its head and two green antennae. It features yellow-spotted wings on its back.
Background[]
In "Anne or Beast?", Sprig tells the citizens of Wartwood that he's found the "beast" Wally was warning everyone about, which is actually a human girl named Anne Boonchuy. The citizens tie her up and are about to kill her, but Sprig comes to Anne's defense and explains that she's not a monster but is just lost and looking for her way back home. At that moment the real beast arrives and everyone towers on each other, commencing their 'mantis formation' and driving it off.
