The Aquarium of the Pacific is an aquarium located in Long Beach, California, where Anne currently works at. The aquarium is situated from the RMS Queen Mary and next to the Lions lighthouse.
Appearance[]
The aquarium is a building with a large white structure and large windows. It is located next to the Pacific Ocean.
Interior[]
Inside, the building is mostly dark and the fish tanks are brighter than the view areas to make it easier to see into the tanks. The entrance is light and has the skeleton of a whale above the reception. In a corner of the building is an Amphibian section called Discover Amphibia.
- Amphibian section: In the Amphibian section there are different sections for frogs, toads, newts, and olms. Most of the sections are replicas of different Amphibia locations, this being work from Anne:
- Frogs section: The frogs section is a replica of the Plantar Farm.
- Toads section: The toads section is a replica of the Toad Tower.
- Newts section: The newts section is a replica of Newtopia Castle.
- Olms section: The olms section is a replica of Proteus.
Background[]
At some point in her adult life, Anne was hired to work at the aquarium in the Amphibian section. There, she made sure that the different sections of the aquarium looked very much like different parts of Amphibia, and even ended up naming a pink South American tree frog in the Frogs section Sprig, after her best friend of the same name.[1]
10 years after their return from Amphibia, Marcy and Sasha go to visit Anne at the aquarium to celebrate Anne's 23rd birthday.[1]
Trivia[]
- The location is based on the real-life Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. The exterior of the building is an almost exact copy.
- In an interview with Matt Braly, he mentioned that he and the crew went to the real Aquarium of the Pacific to study the amphibians when the show was in early production in 2018.[citation needed]
- The aquarium was the final location to be introduced and seen in the series.
- The RMS Queen Mary is not visible in the background.
- The Lions Lighthouse in the background appears to have a needle on top. However, the real-life Lions Lighthouse does not have a needle. The lighthouse also appears to be separated from the aquarium instead of being connected to it.
