Anna is a fictional character in Amphibia. She is the protagonist of Anne's Shut-In story Phone Mo. She is based on Anne herself.
Appearance[]
She is similar to Anne. They both wear the school uniforms and have messy brown hair. Unlike Anne, however, Anna has some of her hair up in a little ponytail. Her school uniform's logo is also Saint Joe's School instead of Saint James School. Anna's shoes are more resembling of tennis shoes, while Anne's shoes are high tops.
Background[]
In Anne's story, "Phone Mo", Anna is a girl who loves to watch videos on her cell phone. She is friends with Twig, Molly, Haddie, and Broadie. While showing Twig and Molly a video, Haddie and Broadie show up, asking if they have seen the latest cute animal video. Before showing it, Broadie warns them that said video is cursed, and that people who watch it have 'mysteriously disappeared'. Though Anna wants to watch it, Twig tells her to be strong and stay away from it. However, Anna secretly watches it behind some vending machines. She gives a cute review, but notices it doesn't have any dislikes.
While Anna is having lunch, Haddie shows up, nervous. Broadie has gone missing, and all that was left of him was his cellphone. The two begin to believe the curse could be true, but they quickly dismiss it. Anna walks out. While at home, playing with her stuffed animals, Anna gets a video call from Twig. He informs her that Molly, Haddie, and Broadie have all disappeared. Anna realizes the curse was real and admits to Twig she watched it. The video suddenly starts playing on her phone, and Anna sees Molly, Haddie, Broadie, and a strange man inside the video. She tries to pause it, but it keeps playing, until the animal from the video emerges from the phone. Anna throws some of her stuff at it to defend herself, and the creature transforms into a ferocious monster known as the Screen Fiend. The Screen Fiend attempts to take Anna, but Anna insults it, causing it to recoil.
Realizing the monster can't take criticism, Anna grabs her cell phone, and then hits the dislike button on the video multiple times. She finally gives a negative review, which destroys the Screen Fiend completely, and frees Haddie, Molly, Broadie, and the other victim. Anna is happily reunited with her friends. Twig shows up and informs them that a burger joint has opened, and they all head out. Unbeknownst to them, the large boba remnants left behind by the Screen Fiend turn out to be eggs, and mini-Screen Fiends hatch.
