So pretend there is a light source. then shade where the light wont hit. Example: light source behind circle, the inside of the circle would be shaded but the rims wont cuz thats where the light hits. another example: light source at the side of the character, the parts where the light wont hit like behind the hair under the neck or smth. i recommended watching a yt vid cuz this is all self taught lol
