Marcy Wu

I feel like Marcy would get some major character development and grow as a person if the spin off took place on Earth and her adapting to Hopkinton, reconnecting with her parents and making new friends while starting High School.

While this is happening she has some memories resurface like facing Darcy in her dreams or something and the show tackles her guilt and wanting to make amends with her family.

I call it “The Wild Child” based off of the Wild Robot movie and the Books

Here’s the Plot of “The Wild Child” for those that are interested

5,530 years in the future, humanity is a very advanced spacefaring society although they’ve evolved technologically, they unfortunately lost what made them “human” essentially becoming robotic in a way although they still have some emotions

Like Love, Compassion, Romance, Happiness, Sadness, Joy and Etc, they mostly just ignore these emotions aside from special occasions

One day a young child by the name of Sprig ends up crashing landing on a distant planet after a exploration spaceship is attacked by pirates, Sprig is the only one who successfully made onto the planet which is wild and untamed

However this planet is dominated by dragons, soon Sprig has to abandon his futuristic human ways to survive on this wild and dangerous planet

Slowly he learns the language of the dragons, soon his given the biggest responsibility in his life being a parent after he orphans a baby night fury, when he accidentally kills her parents and unborn siblings when trying to escape a Deathgripper

As he learns to survive in the wild, he soon becomes one with the dragons and raises his surrogate night fury daughter nightshade to maturity and sends her off with the migration

However Sprig’s new life is turns upside down when a random Vinetail accidentally activates a homing beacon in which his mother’s have transmitted it, and have sent a rescue team to find their son

But at this point in his life Sprig has never felt so alive and felt so “human” that he doesn’t want to leave his new home and his new life to return to a life of being robotic

Now Sprig and his new dragon friends must defend their home from the rescue team who will stop at nothing to return Sprig back to his normal, boring, domesticated, robotic lifestyle

In case you all don't know what Journey to the West is It’s a 16th century Chinese novel by Wu Cheng'en. It's considered one of the greatest Chinese novels and is said to be the most popular literary work in East Asia. The novel is a mix of folktales, history, and religious teachings, and provides insights into Daoism, Buddhism, and Taoism. It's been adapted many times in modern film, television, stage, and other media.

It's based in Chinese Mythology and is about the Monkey King Sun Wukong and its most recent adaptation is the video game Black Myth Wukong which I think Marcy would definitely play and show her parents.

I'm thinking of buying an audiobook of it to listen too since I'm a strong believer of understanding and appreciating other cultures.

I have a ton of laugh's with it

In my opinion, the main trio works well as is, but after re-watching the series recently (because I had nothing to do... 😅), I wondered what a hypothetical fourth member for the trio might be like. I imagine a character who is a sort of rival for Marcy (like Sasha was for Anne in the first season): almost as smart as her, but unlike her, sarcastic, arrogant and vain. He describes himself as the smartest person in school, and he despises and makes fun of others (especially Anne, who he considers the dumbest person he has ever met), but he has respect for Marcy, who he considers the real smartest student (after him, of course).

But I would also like to know your opinion: in your opinion, what would a new member of the trio be like? What characteristics do you think would integrate better with the group and what dynamics could it create? Or do you think that the Calamity Trio is perfect as it is, without the need for additions?

Marcy has a combination of Han Chinese and Taiwanese Aboriginal heritage.
