Valeriana was a female one arm newt who was part of the order of amphibian sages and researchers from the past and almost the collector of artifacts, while traveling across amphibia and sell it to the market place.
But before the event of the series thousands years ago valeriana was a young newt who create the calamity box with the powers of three gems of compassion strength and wits, which it was sent from the guardian when she plan to unite the frogs toads and newts under one banner to bring about the golden age of peace and process in amphibia but not without the price.
The amphibians use the calamity box's powers to travel different worlds which the result of conquering it led by the first royal newt king of newtopia the original leviathan, cause some of them being corrupted by their own greed and arrogance this turn the event that led amphibia to become advanced by technology and robotics and the creation of the core cause the great suffering across the multiverse this terrible act cause valeriana realized the horror about not only did help amphibians to bring the golden age but it brings about the age of conquest on the multiverse through planets to different dimensions she feel guilty for dooming other worlds and left the calamity box under the ownership of the newtopian royalty but when she died her grief cannot allow her to pass on to the afterlife realms and she became a newt ghost for the rest of her life.
Throughout her time as the ghost and the last of the ancient order she learn from the olm prophecy that the only ones with the powers of the gems that will bring the true salvation of amphibia she was waiting for the chosen ones arrived meanwhile previous newt kings of newtopia let their minds to be absorbed to the core by cheating death which the core gain knowledge and personality of the former kings of newtopia and then 1000 years earlier leif plantar steal the calamity box and sent it to earth so the three warriors will be chosen to face the core.
Valeriana knew that leif had shut down the technology and the core was using andrias as the puppet king of newtopia causing the three amphibia races to be divided into feudal caste system that will led to the great oppressing of all frogs and the toad armies become newtopia's enforcers and tax collectors and the newts became superior race but between the leif's thieving of the box and the arrival of the calamity trio valeriana runs her own stand call valeriana's mysterious goods in the bizarre bazaar while waiting for the heroes had come to amphibia.
Eventfully it did in the year 2019 ad anne sasha and marcy got the powers of the three gems and sent them to amphibia along with the calamity box she made the first encounter with anne at her shop on season one, later at the second half of the season two valeriana had another encounter with anne the plantar family and marcy who was at the arctic region she was act as the guardian of the second temple to test anne's actions and responsibilities after finish the trial she use her magic to recharge the blue gem but it was half charge as anne left to save her friends.
There the theory of her involvement at the second temple valeriana was aware that the core was using the three temple quests to depower the trio's ability to use calamity form by manipulating marcy through andrias base of her obsession of dimension travel to resume the conquest of the multiverse, so she recharge half of the gem powers so she let anne to have other half of her powers which not only let the blue gem half charge but anne will allow to gain her calamity form could lead andrias's ultimate defeat and stopping the invasion on earth and all the multiverse from all in.
Then the core pulling the final stand by using the red moon to destroy amphibia she cast her magic to gain anne sasha and marcy in full calamity form to prevent the core from wipe out all life and anne use the combine powers of the gems to kill the core with one blast of energy in orbit making anne to deem worthy as the new guardian but she will wait until she was old enough after the final battle valeriana use up all the remaining gems to sent anne sasha and marcy back home to earth as the calamity now dissipate.
Having the human trio back home and the prophecy finally fulfilled amphibia enter the new age as amphibians now united once more since the golden age with the leviathans family reign was over and the core's destruction ending the usage of the calamity and valeriana was finally complete her goal to fix the damage she started thousands of years ago but she will waiting to pass on to the afterlife after her work was finish.
